Garmin Software Updates

Official Garmin software download site.

GPSdb

GPSdb is must-have software for Garmin™ GPS owners. GPSdb is indeed must-have software for Garmin™ GPS owners. GPSdb allows you to maintain and organize the data you've taken all those hours to collect on your GPS.

Scrolling through ten or even 50 waypoints on the GPS isn't too bad. But most receivers will hold 500 or more waypoints. Using the rocker switches to go through hundreds of waypoints is aggravating. With GPSdb, you can upload the information you want to your GPS before each trip with the click of the mouse! Going hiking in the mountains? You don't need to wade through your offshore fishing waypoints for the whole trip.

GPSdb also lets you download and organize your GPS tracklogs. You can keep all your fishing tracks together, your flying tracks together, and your hiking tracks together. How you organize your data is up to you. But GPSdb is the best software to use!

GPsdb also provides great security for those occasional mishaps. If you drop your GPS or just upgrade to a new model, you can load all your data into a new receiver in seconds.

eTrex Land Release

Unofficial firmware to add new icons for benchmarks (waypoints)

GARtrip

Designed to let you manage your waypoints, plan your routes, and analyze your tracks. Also available for the Magellan series of receivers.

GPS Utility Standard Edition

GPS Utility is an easy-to-use application that provides management and manipulation of GPS information. You can use it to transfer data to/from a GPS receiver and store the data in PC files in one of several text formats.  The program converts between different map datums and many coordinate formats (Lat/Long, UTM/UPS, country grids etc.).

Information can be filtered in various ways and waypoints sorted according to specified criteria. Using a scanned in bitmap you can digitize waypoints, routes and tracks. Route and track statistics are available and can be transferred into other programs for ananlysis (i.e. spreadsheet programs). You can plot your GPS information as a map and add map annotations in text or image form.

Gringo Software

GRINGO (GPS RINEX Generator) is a program which records the raw receiver measurements (pseudoranges and, optionally, carrier phase measurements) from 12-channel Garmin GPS receivers in RINEX format. The output from GRINGO is a properly formatted RINEX file, containing the decoded data. This file is created in real-time, from data transmitted from the GPS receiver's data port to a serial port on your computer.

With the appropriate processing software, a RINEX pseudorange data file can be combined with data files from other receivers, to measure the vector between the receivers to a higher accuracy than would be possible using the stand-alone coordinates of the two receivers. Depending on the precision of the pseudoranges and the distance between the receivers, relative positioning accuracies of the order of 10 m or better can be achieved.

OziExplorer

OziExplorer GPS Mapping Software works with Magellan, Garmin, Lowrance, Eagle, Brunton/Silva and MLR GPS receivers for the upload/download of waypoints, routes and tracks and most brand of GPS receivers for real time tracking of GPS position (Moving Map).

OziExplorer allows you to work with maps on the computer screen that you create from scanned or digital maps. Ideal for planning trips for boating, 4 wheel driving, flying, hiking etc and as a real time navigation aid.

Waypoint+

To be able to upload and download Routes, Tracks, and Waypoints from a Garmin GPS to a PC, simplifying the processes of creating and editing these data.
